I am so ready for this week to be over. [05 Mar 2008|10:06am]
[ mood | INSANE!!! ]

This could possibly be the worst week ever. I'm not, like, preparing to go curl up in a dark corner and die or anything, but my emotions are running pretty high.

I have to finish my SIP and turn it in on Friday. I've been working on it since the beginning of the school year, so it's extremely weird to be done with it. As Shivangee said, "It's like losing an arm." I just really hope it's done well. I never feel like my work is as good as it could be, so I'm nervous.

Plus, my Grandpa Hall passed away on Monday. I knew he was really sick back during Winter Break, and I knew he wouldn't last very long, but I'm already so emotional because of the SIP that this really made me upset.

This is the second grandparent I've lost while at K, and I didn't go to Grandpa Schlintz's funeral, and I won't go to this one either because of school, and it makes me really sad because I didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

Luckily, Ali's coming up this weekend and we're going to go see Lewis Black, so I think I'll feel much better about things come Friday afternoon!

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LINDSAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We must do something soon to celebrate!

P.P.S. Wow, I'm sorry this entry is so bi-polar, but I've been feeling a bit crazy lately.

Another Glorious Morning. Makes Me Sick! [20 Aug 2006|12:57pm]
[ mood | weird ]

I just need to say that I had the strangest dream last night! It was really long and made no sense, but all you need to know is that I was about to be raped by some weird guy in a costume...when all of a sudden Gale Harold came in and rescued me. Yes, I was saved by Brian Kinney. All he did was hug me for about 5 minutes, and I was out of danger. It was so odd!

Also, no one seemed to care that I had almost been assaulted. Nice, Dream People. Nice.

I also kept repeating the word 'conduit' again. But this time, instead of me calling someone else 'conduit,' it was my name in the dream (according to some guy with a dog who looked like Sherlock Holmes).

I think my anxiety is totally screwing up my sleep. I already get nervous by the prospect of going back to K...so this is about a billion times worse.

I miss people already, so everyone should be prepared to keep in touch. *cougheveryoneshouldgetskypecough*

Heroes in a Half-Shell, TURTLE POWER!!! [02 Aug 2006|05:00pm]
[ mood | thirsty ]

Anyone else really excited about the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie? Anyone?

My excitement over this movie made me realize that my dorkiness was imminent from birth, because I couldn't remember which turtle was which, and so I looked it up, natch. Of course, my favorite was Donatello when I was a kid, and, wouldn't you know it, he's the intellectual one who creates machines and prefers solving problems with his brains rather than his mad ninja skillz. Oh, me.

I'm also very intrigued by the trailers for The Prestige, Babel, Children of Men,and The Fountain. They all look like they could be very good. Too bad I probably won't be able to see them since I will not be in the U.S.

Speaking of which, Shivangee, Meghan, and I have decided that we will all have mental breakdowns before we leave. SO MUCH STRESS!!!!!!!

Luckily, we have friends and such to distract us until we leave.

Ooh, and one more thing before I go do nothing for another hour: Daniel Radcliffe will be in a play next year. And he will be naked...on a horse...where I believe he has an orgasm for some reason. And he will be obsessed with blinding the poor horses with pokers. WOW. JUST. WOW.

That's as far from Harry Potter as you can get. Or is it???!!!!!

You Have A MORE BASEMENT?! [23 Jul 2006|04:01pm]
[ mood | bored ]

Okay, there is no reasoning behind the subject heading to this entry, but I just love the things are group comes up with to let them go unremembered.

Anyhoo, I found a lot of really good quality Cirque du Soleil vids on YouTube. More linkspam for you!!!!

Varekai: The Flight of Icarus. This was the opening act for the show, and I still think it's incredible.

Varekai: Aerial Straps Act. This act blew me away when I first saw it!! I still don't understand how people can have so much control while flying through the air. Definitely one of my favorites!

Varekai: Russian Swings. This is the finale to the show. Great stuff.

Corteo: Bouncing On the Bed Act. Gives a whole new meaning to a childish hobby.

Corteo: Cyr Wheel Act. Buff half-naked men rolling around in wheels. What more do you want?

Corteo: Tournik Act. This is the finale of the show, and features extreme gymnastics!

LINKSPAM!!!!!!!!!!!! [19 Jul 2006|06:56pm]
[ mood | accomplished ]

Brandon pimped a link to a very amusing World Cup Pepsi ad the other day, and I was subsequently inspired to find more amusing videos to share with yous guys. Let the dorkiness begin:

Adidas: Footballitis in which Beckham, Zidane, Barthez and co. have problems.

Adidas: Impossible is Nothing in which Ballack, Kaka, Beckham, and co. play footbal on a field made only of steel beams.

Adidas: Road to Lisbon in which Zidane, Ballack, and a billion footballers make the trek to the 2004 Euro Cup on vespas.

A Pepsi Ad in which Beckham gets sent off the field and meets a kid with a Pepsi.

The World Cup is Full of Love, revel in the awesome man-lovin' that is the Italian team. Your not a man unless you can hug your teammates...and jump on them...yeah...

P.S. Ali, you know how Zidane has very pretty eyes? I totally didn't realize just how green they are, until now:

Woke Up This Morning... [18 Jul 2006|05:18pm]
[ mood | sick ]

At Brandon's list night, I started feeling a little bit ill. I thought it was nothing.

But, at 5:30 this morning, I broke out into a cold sweat and ended up throwing up...4 times. Huzzah. I haven't had anything like this happen to me in a LONG TIME, so I'm kinda pissed. I have absolutely no idea how I got sick.

Then I slept until 1:30 and now I have a headache.

P.S. I did have fun last night, though!

P.P.S I had better be okay by Thursday or I will kill everything!!!!!!

Things That Make Me Happy [16 Jul 2006|06:06pm]
[ mood | hungry ]

This post is blatantly stolen from Meghan's recent "The Fangirl Squee" entry, but I just really wanted to do one of my very own:

1. Nostalgia. I truly can never get enough of "I Love the 70s," "I Love the 80s," and "I Love the 90s" on VH1! Yes, I know I wasn't alive during the 70s, but it still so much fun to watch people commenting on pop culture.

2. Zinedine Zidane. Who knew that by ending your career in this way would not only overshadow Italy's victory, but also inspire a lot of sympathy? He just did this interview explaining his actions. It's in French (without subtitles), but all you have to do is listen to his voice! Or watch these awesome ads for Volvic bottled water. Oh, I shall miss Zizou!

3. Pirates of the Caribbean. I must admit that I didn't like it as much as the first one, but it's one of the only decent films out at the moment, so it seems. Also, Norrington is amazing (even though I was in love with him in the first one anyway), and Will finally took the reigns and stopped complaining about being a pirate. I also love how Bootstrap Bill is such a woobie!!!!

4. YouTube. Where else can I see so many fan parodies and random clips/shows/etc.?! If I ever need to see something, I just search for it on YouTube and there ya go! I never would have seen the "Flying Car" parody, or the awesome Fall Out Boy Parody without YouTube!!!

Zidane, Pourquoi?! Purquoi, Zidane!!!??? [09 Jul 2006|05:10pm]
[ mood | depressed ]

I guess I really did want France to win after all. Hmm. I just hate it when the team that loses plays better than the other team.

I am also terribly depressed because Zidane was playing so well and kept going with an injury...and then he goes and head-butts an Italian in the chest. Wow. It's his VERY LAST GAME EVER and he leaves the field with a red card. Now he'll be remembered for that rather than how well he plays. I still kinda love him, though.

On the bright side, I'm happy that Italy could put the scandal at home behind them and play. Also, I realized how gorgeous Fabio Cannavaro is. So, to make me feel better, I'm posting some pics. *le sigh*

Mmmm, CannavaroCollapse )

England, Thou Hast Cleft Mine Heart in Twain! [02 Jul 2006|12:36pm]
[ mood | ecstatic ]

I never want to see David Beckham in tears again, because it makes me incredibly depressed! I'm not going to lie, I cried after Portugal beat England yesterday, possiby because I knew Portugal played better and because Wayne Rooney is a douche.

On the other hand: SUCK IT, BRAZIL!!!!!111ONEELEVEN I am so in love with Zinedine Zidane right now! I nearly had a heart attack watching the Brazil/France game, but it was so worth it! Simply fantastic!

Saw Superman Returns again with the parents yesterday. Mom liked it, Dad did not (just like I suspected). All I know is that I liked it, so whatever. Brandon Routh is still gorgeous, but Meghan pointed out that his voice sounds remarkably similar to that of Tom Cruise. It's true, but I will try to ignore it.

I think we're going to see The Devil Wears Prada today with mom, so we'll see how that goes.

Tagged By Brandon, Dammit. [22 Jun 2006|01:38pm]
[ mood | hungry ]

Six weird habits/things I do:

1. I simply cannot sleep without a fan blowing. Not on me, but just so I can hear it. No white noise = no sleep.

2. At night, I have to brush my teeth before I wash my face. I can't do it the other way around.

3. When I sleep in the same bed as Meghan (like on vacations), we ALWAYS end up in the same sleeping position.

4. I quote movies/books/tv shows incessantly. I know we all do this, but my mom is truly amazed by how well I remember random lines from things.

5. When I fly in an airplane, I have to have my lucky pig in my pocket. It's a German tradition to carry a small figure of a pig, I can't remember why, but I seriously fear for my life if I don't have it.

6. Even if it's a book I'm really excited to read, I'll skim through it before I get down to the actual reading. I know that I'm ruining things for myself by doing it, but I just can't help myself!

This list was actually hard to come up with! I'm sure I have a lot of weird habits, but my brain is mush! I tag: LIZ, JANELLE, AADITI, CAROLINE, CHELSEA, INGRID! Have fun, guys.

I Need to Stop Doing Picspam Entries! [20 Jun 2006|07:19pm]

These are mostly pics of David Beckham, because the World Cup is quite inspiring. I was going to do a post only on Becks, but I also had to add some pics of Raoul Bova, because he is a beautiful Italian man.

I Survived the Death Plane! Yay! [18 Jun 2006|07:15pm]
[ mood | relaxed ]

Worst plane landing EVER!!!!!! I seriously thought the plane was going down right before getting home, which would be 10 times worse than crashing halfway through a flight. The plane seemed to be descending way too quickly, and was being jerked around like you wouldn't believe. Gah.

Anyhoo, Disney was AWESOME! I'm sure Meghan will post pics/vids at some later date. I did have a migraine one day, but it didn't really interfere with things until late at night. I forgot how much I love the nostalgia of Disney. Yeah, a lot of the rides are corny (Great Movie Ride anyone?), but you can't help but love them!

I must say that I was INCREDIBLY disappointed in MGM's "Journey Into Narnia" thing. Here we were expecting WETA Workshop's lovely Richard Taylor to come on and talk about the creatures, etc. NOPE! We walk through the wardrobe, enter the pine forest by the lamp post, watch the White Witch give a speech, and watch a 10 minute montage of the film. Doubleyou Tee Eff? How was that worth anyone's time?! I've already seen the film, which is why I wanted to LEARN ABOUT HOW IT WAS MADE!!!!! Geez.

One of the highlights of the trip for me was going to Cirque du Soleil at Pleasure Island. The La Nouba show is so amazing, and it has so many gorgeous acrobatics. Seriously, watch a clip here. I love the part with the acrobats using the red fabric. Gah!

I finally did Splash Mountain, which I loved. But then I just about wept because "Pirates" was closed BECAUSE THEY ARE CHANGING IT!!!!!!!! NoOoOooOOO!!!!!!I love Captain Jack Sparrow, but the movie is based on the ride, not the other way around. In any case, I still love Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan's Flight, Countdown to Extinction, etc etc.

P.S. Still haven't had a drink yet. Yeah, I'm cool like that.

Disney World, Here I Come!!!!! [11 Jun 2006|05:29pm]
[ mood | lethargic ]

Summer has officially begun because there was a party in Brandon's basement. It doesn't count as 'break' if Brandon's basement has not been involved.

Of course, as soon as we see everyone, we leave again. However, I must say that Disney World is a pretty good place to go.

We went to see TWO movies yesterday: A Prairie Home Companion and Cars. Both were pretty good. Some parts of A Prairie Home Companion didn't work too well with the overall feel of the movie, like the Dangerous Woman and Guy Noir. Those characters were interesting, but it just seemed strange to put them in the film. Cars was really cute and I LOOOVED the part at the end with Toy Car Story, etc.

Did it seem to anyone else that it was more aimed towards children humor-wise than other Pixar films? It just didn't seem as inventive either. Still cute, though.

P.S. I am totally in love with the World Cup! Hence the icon. I'm so mad I will be missing so many games during vacation. I wanna know how the United States plays.

P.P.S. Soccer (geez I hate having to call it that) players are the best looking of all athletes. I have been consistently surprised at how good-looking a lot of the teams are! Zidane, Beckham, Cole, Casillas, and Ballack are my favorites!

I Don't Know How To Feel.....!!!!! [27 May 2006|07:01pm]
[ mood | pleased ]

Ok people, when I first saw Chronicles of Narnia, I thought that Peter was really cute. I mean, really, the cuteness is undeniable, and I was greatly relieved when I found out that he is 18. So...it's not creepy like my love of DanRad.

Aww. See how cute he is?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

HOWEVER. Did you all know that he looks like this with his shirt off:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Yeah. I didn't either.

I seriously did not expect someone who looks so innocent to have a six pack. I don't know what I expected...but not that! I guess it's like if Elijah Wood was really ripped, somewhat disturbing at first...but then quite alright. Hehe.

P.S. I WANNA GO HOME SO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.P.S. Walking to Food Dance on a Saturday eveing is a very good idea. Yum yum.

Damn you, Michael! Damn you! [25 May 2006|02:37pm]
[ mood | okay ]

"Lost" was good last night, although I will say that the end was extremely confusing and almost anti-climactic because it seemed so random.

I kept thinking, "Where are Jin, Sun, and Sayid?!" They just left them out of the plot altogether! I was also EXTREMELY SAD about Desmond. I think I might love him a little bit...and he's kinda hot...in a crazy sort of way...

Does anyone agree with me on this? Anyone?

Ooooh! And I'm really excited AND scared because they have finally cast young Sirius, Remus, and Snape for OotP!!!!!!!!!! I need to see what they look like NOW!!!! If Sirius is not hot I will KILL EVERYTHING! Oh, and Remus better not have a manky 'stache yet. He's, like, 15 for crying out loud!

P.S. I hear X:3 is not so good, but I wanna see it just to see Angel.

P.P.S. Shivangee, Janelle, Meghan, and I said that, if we won the Cake Walk at the DeWaters Carnival, we would share it. In the end, Shivangee, Janelle, and I ALL WON CAKES! Needless to say, I almost died from the sugar intake last night. WEE!

Day Of Gracious Living [22 May 2006|06:17pm]
[ mood | amused ]

Meghan and I didn't go to the beach like most people, but we didn't really want to go anyway. We had fun sleeping in and walking downtown. We bought some books for really cheap!

Hiroko's parents are visiting Kalamazoo from Tokyo, so we had a special lab where her parents gave us a presentation on Japanese food. They were both dressed so nicely! They gave us adzuki beans which, upon eating, made me want mochi terribly badly!

EVERYONE MUST WATCH THIS VIDEO: 10 Things I Hate About Commandments. It's genius!!!

How cool is it that STEPHEN LYNCH got a TONY NOMINATION!!!??? I'll bet he never thought he'd get one!

I have a headache (as per usual), but I have to go to class from 7-9 and then ISO Show rehearsal from 9-God Knows When. I love working in Dalton, but I hate the hours so much. I have a Japanese dialogue to memorize by tomorrow, so I hope the rehearsal doesn't go until 1 AM.

This is random, but can I declare how much I love Sawyer from "Lost?" Last night, I teared up when he told Jack he was the closest thing he had to a friend. I am such a dork! So much love, though.

I also finally did that meme that Ali, Elaine, and Niiki did. Totally feel like a skank. Hehehe.

P.S. Memorial Day is coming up, and we can't go home and the parents can't come up. Would anyone like to make a trip to The Zoo? That would make me so happy... *sigh*

I Am Not Yet Dead [09 May 2006|03:30pm]
[ mood | relieved ]

Yesterday was the worst day ever. I woke up feeling really hot, so I sat in front of the fan. Then I broke out into a cold sweat. I wasn't hungry at all and my head felt like someone was trying to drill through the left side of it.

I went to the Health Center and they told me I had a migraine. Surprise, surprise. So, I threw up, took some medecine, and slept all day. I don't think I have ever been in that much pain, and that's saying a lot coming from me.

On the up side, we went home for the weekend to see the ballet. It was really cool, because they danced to the music of the Beach Boys, Motown, and Prince. I loved the Motown one!

We also watched Pride & Prejudice with mom. I liked it, but I don't think they showed enough initial dislike between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. Mr. Darcy looked like a mix of David Wenham and Hugh Jackman to me, so I liked him muchly. Mr. Bingley was also adorable, and Wickham reminded me of Orlando Bloom for some odd reason.

I absolutely hated Lydia, though. I wanted to punch her in the throat. Or the kidneys.
